Not Waving But Sleeping
Excellent track “While She Sleeps (Morning Edit)” , by The Lights Galaxia, is the best track IMHO, from Catching The Wave‘s selection from Phlow Magazine’s Advent Calendar today.
Analogue Island Discs
Greg Healey gives his selections for Phlow Magazine’s Advent Calendar today. Greg has a weekly radio show “Analogue Island“.
Greg chose a track by my old mate, Spidersleg, as well as the Cwtch album (featuring Marie Craven aka Pixieguts).
Viva Netaudio España
David Domingo, co-director of netaudio.es gives hisselection of the best creative commons audio of 2009.
Some very interesting downtempo electronica from Mosaik and soem classic tracks from Henrik Jose (aka Bliss).
Game Boy Dub? – Masayuki’s moments
Blogger of the Music Forest, from Japan, Masayuki, gives us his Netlabel selections for 2009 from Phlow’s Advent Calendar today.
Some rather interesting “chiptune” stuff as you might expect from a Japanese source, plus some “game boy dub” (dubstep?) from quarta330 which is quite excellent.
Unfortunately archive.org is down as I write this, so a lot of the links are down. Netlabel FAIL!
Gregoire’s chants
Michael Gregoire pushes all the right buttons from the start when he includes Jamendo favourites Juanitos and The Diablo Swing Orchestra in his Phlow-Magazine Advent Calendar selection.
So it was great to find some golden nuggets that I’ve missed over the year – especially Russian Pop Duo Muha and Nashville band Paper Navy.
I wonder what tomorrow’s selection will be?
Mogwai Moments
In Day 4 of Phlow Magazine’s Advent Calendar we have selections from Mogwai from Mannheim in Germany.
In addition to starting he works with his project Kreislauf he works with N0theen and netaudio.blogspot.
Some interesting dubstep selections from the 20/twelve Dubstep netlabel as well as reference to the excellent Budabeats and Acroplane, who of course, you’ve heard tracks from on my podcasts.
Psycoded selections
Christmas really has come early this year with Phlow Magazine’s Advent Calendar.
Day 3 gives us a downtempo, dubtech-stylee selection from Psycoded. As one of the members of the Cologne Commons team he helped organising one of those rare events where people meet in real.
Well worth a listen!
Day 2 of the Phlow Advent Calendar
Day 2 of Phlow Magazine’s Advent Calendar of netlabels gives us the choices of Netwaves – a weekly radio program dedicated to netlabels and netaudio, broadcasted on Belgium’s oldest commercial-free independent local radio.
Some great tracks today include artists like Dadub from the ever-excellent A Quiet Bump and a new band for me, pandoras.box, from Bavaria, Germany.
