It looks like the new owner of ReggaeDubWise has taken the site down. The comment on the facebook site (not managed by the current owner) says:
It appears that the new site owner bailed on reggaedubwise.com He will not answer any of my emails and it appears they suspended the site. I have all the software and a new domain name. I do not want this new project to be reggae only but have many other genres similare to reverbnation.com.
Although there are a lot of additional great netlabels out there serving the dub community, RDW has always been a great home for dub music and the source of great dub for The Dub Zone and The Dub Step Zone. It’s always had a rocky road, especially as the last owner has cancer, but let’s hope something good happens.
Greetings Pete…I just have to say I’m really cheesed off at all these people. I don’t think a single one of them is being straight with me or the rest of the ‘reggae community’ such as it is about what’s really going on. I trusted them with 3 dozen of my tracks and had links to my rdw.com page on a dozen other sites. All gone gone gone. What say you? I know you had lots of podcasts up there.
Hi Man,
Yeah it’s really sad. If the new owner would just say… “there is no more RDW” then we could grieve and move on, but I understand he says nothing. Thankfully there are other places we can store tracks, like soundcloud, or the world would be a dub-less place.
All the best
Pete
The only one of them I was able to get hold of was Rob, and he did his best imitation of Sgt. Schultz in “Hogan’s Heroes” (you may be old enough, as I of course am, to understand that). But I know for a fact that he’s still in contact with Carl, and is practically a neighbor of Toussaint in W. Massachusetts.
I did send the RDW facebook page a comment about how my genre was reggae, not hiphop, jazz or metal, and that I would have absolutely no interest in sharing my tracks on an “all-inclusive” music site. Never got a reply. All the best Pete, and thanks for keeping this going! I’ve started to move my 40 or so tracks to https://dubark.com.
Blessings,
s’ton
Blessingz Peter, i see you forgot to mention, https://www.dubark.com
the very reason dubark was built was for this very reason, that no man be left out at sea!!
dubark has now taken the torch for real reggae and dub producers, on the net!!
most of the core Rdw members, joined dubark a year ago,.
havnt seen much of you over at dubark were you been, the dubs have been uploaded thick and fast!! and also many many new artist have joined!!
hope all is well R..I.P RDW, and bless up the dubark family, we strong 1 year earth strong, january 14th.
come get ya dubz!!!!
well it looks like the end of rdw as a reggae site.many of us ex rdw people have been at the dub ark since a fallout with carl.people will just have to ween themselves away from rdw.dub ark is more like the original versionist.so if you are looking for free downlods and the true spirit of the underground reggae/dub community then check dub ark.i am surprised pete that you have not featured dub ark tunes in youre podcast.maybe someone at rdw has tried to influence youre thought, please ignore its all bitchy bullshit.my sympathies are with carl and his illness, but he did rip the heart out of rdw.so forwards https://dubark.com.
Thankfully no-one has tried to influence me at any site about the music. I hope the music stands for itself.
We have seen a lot of changes, since the early versionist days, but it’s good to know that, whatever happens, reggae music prevails.
I am a member over at dubark and will be getting more great tracks from thereDub Zones.
Forwards dub lovers!
Cheers Pete!WOT A GREAT SITE!You allways have been a true supporter of online dub community…Respex&thanx for that. Also great that YOU at least try to give a little info of wots cooking…keep the vibe!Bless
