DSZ#88 will be the last Dub Step Zone

Hi folks. As mentioned before, I’m having difficulty sourcing some of the best dubstep on the planet for DSZ. So much of the sound is now going “post-dubstep” with vocal links and “trappy” beats which leave me cold.

I’ve just recorded DSZ#87 with what good stuff I have left, but I’ve decided to go out with a big bang in September. DSZ#88 will be the last podcast.

In need of some good new dubstep!

I’m not going to be able to put out a Dub Step Zone this week. There are just not enough tracks that I like. So much of the dubstep effort is going into “trap” or “vocal dubstep” these days and I’m just not into that style.

Can anyone recommend some places to look?

Podcast download stats 2009-2014

I’ve been keeping podcast download stats since 2009. The results for 2014 are now in and they show the gradual decline of all podcasts since their height in 2011.

Although it’s sad to see a decline, I know that many podcasters don’t get these numbers, and it’s not the reason that I, or any of the other music podcasters, do what they do. We all do it because it’s a way of promoting and celebrating music that would never get on mainstream radio.

2015 will be the 10th year I’ve been podcasting. It promises to be as full of great music as has previous years. I hope you enjoy listening.

We did it!

Well…. it was an amazing weekend Zumba-ing! 185 people registered, plus there was a great support team or timekeepers, witnesses, food providers, sponsors and general hangers on, but it was all worth it. We’ll know by the end of October whether Guinness have accepted it’s a world record, but even without that title we will have raised over $14,000 for the hospice. I managed 11.5 hours, but a select few did the whole 36.6 hours. Just awesome!
